The final decision to evacuate Gallipoli is made and the British Indian Army gets under siege in the town of Kut Al Amara in Mesopotamia. The end of 1915 certainly looked grim for the Entente. The morale in Italy was also at a low point after the Fourth Battle of the Isonzo river ended like the three before. » HOW CAN I SUPPORT YOUR CHANNEL? Don't mess with Turks.

I was called up to active duty in April 2004 thru the Missouri National Guard. We were Combat Engineers and the Iraq war was going more or less badly for the USA. One of base locations was Kut. We had about 50 Missourians there. It was a depressing dump. There were also some non combat Russians actually helping. Overnight they bugged out because they were not supposed to get shot at. We accidently wrecked a Russian truck and they tried to sue the Missouri National Guard. I'm not kidding.

Hubris must be contagious. Seems like almost all the leaders of the time came down with it.
-
How did the troops keep warm in winter on the western front? I mean, with that amount of forces on both sides and considering the devastation of the land, it must have been hard to forage firewood, also wouldn't smoke give away positions to the artillery?
-
Excellent even for this series. A stand out episode, perhaps because of the 'obscure' subject matter. Keep it up chaps!
-
the summary, while we were saying turks are ill men, they slaped us in kut and ingallipoli. ohh sorry and ın sangarios, and in dumlupinar, and in aintab and in.... WTF :)

Patron Murray from New Zealand, huh? You know he really shouldn't be spending his money on Patreons when Brett's only got one shoe.
-
Big Ottoman victory
-
Just a sidenote, at 0:30, the town you labeled "Visegrád" is actually called "Višegrad". There exists a "Visegrád" though, but it's a town in northern Hungary in the Danube bend.

brits like to ignore the truth hurts

Love the show! Just started watching a few weeks ago and I'm moving in order.
Question though, what happened to the French army that landed in Greece to help the Serbians? Were their forces moved up into Montenegro to join the British? Or were they Evacuated out of the AO?
I have missed the answer if y'all already said it.... -
You mentioned about a British force met by the French in the Balkan front. When did the British send forces to the Balkans? I thought they were only French who disembarked in Thessaloniki under General Saraill. What did I miss?
-
Gallipoli is nothing. 550.000 thousands bravo men died there from both sides brits anzacs and frenchs died because of assholes who give wrong commands and let their men die for their silly games Turks Died for a war which is not belong to them but they had to, they died for defending their land. Yes gallipoli is nothing just a war made for freedom and land. I lots 3 ancestors in gallipoli they dont have even Tombstones. Men who died in the gallipoli were unnamed heroes.

1:25 3 German hydroplanes?!? I'm assuming these were floatplanes and not what we today consider hydroplanes.
-
@1:23 about the Britsh ship aground and 3 German Hydroplanes attacking it. Request clarification of hydroplane. By hydroplanes do you mean float planes or boat planes or sea planes? Hydro does mean water. In ships a hydroplane is a wing like item below in the water generating lift that gets the ship to go up as a means to reduce the stronger water friction and drag affects.
