Brian Goulet's 5 Favorite Fountain Pen Inks- Ink Nouveau
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
www.GouletPens.com www.InkNouveau.com I've used a number of fountain pen inks over the years, and while I greatly enjoy exploring and trying new colors, there are some that find their way in my pens more than others. For various reasons, I love each of these 5 colors more than any other ink. What are your 5 favorites?

Black: I do like Noodler's black, but I really like Kaweko Pearl Black; Red: Yep, I'm a big fan of Diamine Red Dragon as well. I also like Noodler's Red-Black a lot; Green: Noodlers Forest Green, and F-C Moss Green; Blue: PR Electric DC Blue, Diamine Majestic Blue.

Noodler's Apache Sunset is the ink that got me into fountain pens. Beyond beautiful

I love Diamine Oxblood because it really looks like blood when it dries, so it freaks out HR when I sign documents with it and return them. On the other hand it dries if I don't use the pen over the weekend and I need to clean the nib, and it's a real pain to clean out of a pen. 40 or 50 bulb flushings and the nib is still producing pink water.
I love the color of Baystate Blue, and I love that it's made here in Massachusetts. I'm kinda afraid of getting it on anything though because it stains so readily. I'm basically devoting a pan to that ink so it can ruin one cheap pen and I won't care. -
Im loving diamine quartz black right now. Pretty much the only ink my metropolitan has seen

wow what about iroshizuku ?

Diamine Tyrian purple
Diamine Twilight -
What's an ink that dries pretty fast but isn't necessarily a 'fast-dry ink' and is not very fluid/watery? I don't care if the color isn't very pretty, I'm more concerned with these properties...

A simple swede with simple taste. I run Lamys Black ink through my lamy studio. Perfect for my taste. But soon i will be looking for a perfect purple ink together with a nice purple lamy pen.

I am a newbie and right now I love all of the inks I own. I think I am comparing them to rollerball/ballpoint inks. I do see a pattern starting with turquoise/blue being about half of what I own followed by purples. I also noticed the differences between saturations and shading. I like that I can have both and I am starting to appreciate when to use which.

I'm looking for the perfect grey ink...not too light but not too dark...something that dries quickly, but isn't too dry an ink, if that makes any sense... An attractive glass bottle would be nice too. Is that asking too much? If that ink exists, that would be my favorite ink...

Interesting, the Diamine Dragon Red certainly has brown to it for me, contradicting what you mentioned. I used it in my Cross Bailey and Jinhao x450 and I will say there's a bit of brown in there. Or maybe it's just how I see it? Anyway, great video!

My favorite inks are diamine lavender and diamine flamingo pink

Hi,
I use lamy, just because, but recently i'm trying to find an ink for it, i use it a LOT, basically one ink catridge per day, (University notes and in general).
I tried Black and BlueBlack ink from Lamy but i feel that the second is quite pale and when i´m checking my notes again, the lack of contrast with the papers does not help. (Math sucks when your paper is full of formulas and the ink does not have a good contrast).
Black is ok but do you think is one better?. I mean one that looks darker?, algo with blue, which blue would you recomend me, i was looking for a color dark blue or an strong blue.
Also someone told me that turquoise from Lamy is a winner for notes, do you have experience with this one?
my pen is a F safary umbra,
Thanks for your help! -
nice videos! i love Lamy's Dark Lilac! very royal, classy, and chic at the same time! you can see it in my IG page. ☺

hi :) i bought a bottle of noodler's cerulean ink (i don't know if there's another name for it, i forgot) and it's great and all. my one problem is that it bleeds pretty badly and sometimes bleeds on my rhodia pad. i'm using a pointed pen, is this normal? when i use it with my ahab, it seems fine but it does feather, thanks :)
