6 Dollar Montblanc Rollerball from a Pilot G2
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
This 6 Dollar Montblanc Rollerball is made from a Pilot G2 and a Montblanc refill. -- A Montblanc rollerball pen costs between $200 and $400. This $6 pen writes just as good and uses the same Montblanc refill. Yes! the Montblanc Rollerball refill does dry out. There are many great inexpensive pens out there. This was just an experiment. #juke #jeff #jukejeff

This guy understands everything perfectly : it is the refill that makes the pen.

i do not understand why you use a montblanc refill in oilot pen body.
you suppose to do the reverse method as our interrest is to escape the expensive montblanc refill
thaught! -
Can you do that with any of the other MB refills, like a ball point refill?
-
Man you rock... I like your perspective on pens... however, I think you missed the point behind the value proposition of Montblanc... the joy and beauty of a montblanc, is more into the pen itself rather than the refill (which is quite comparable to other roller ball refills except for some price difference to account for the brand)

I'm trying to figure out how to do the reverse. I like the actual Montblancs but I like gel ink refills in my roller pens. If I can figure out how to easily fit a G2 refill into a Montblanc roller, then I'm buying a Montblanc. The issue seems mainly to be that the Montblanc cartridges screw in while the G2s don't.

I love the way the G-2 writes. I didn't like what you did with the MB. By the way, if you want to try a super refill, try the Parker rollerball refill. Next best thing to a vintage flexible nib. I use the Medium. Don't know if you can get the same effect with the Parker Fine.

It just proves expensive writing instruments are bullshit status symbols. This isn't a $200 pen for pennies on the dollar life hack. The quality is identical, begging the question, who's a bigger idiot, owners of Mont Blanc or the obsessive emulator who posts on YouTube? If you're onto this -- and I was!!! -- you've too much time on your hands and are excessively absorbed with meaningless minutiae. STOP!! You are ruining your life, bruising the soul, and taxing the gray matter and patience of those who love and care about you. If you happen to be in a despairing minority for whom no one loves or cares, your time is better spent contemplating grandiose methods of suicide. GO NOW!! Follow your muse! Eternity beckons. END YOUR FUTILE COWARDICE, you moron with a silly $0.70 pen! The Reaper mocks your folly!! Do you not own a rope or a set of jumper cables to spark an inoperable vehicle which, apart from being a means to your sad finale is, itself, in it's current and shameful state of disrepair, also a metaphor for the moribund shell you've become, you pathetic ink fetishist pauper embarrassment to humanity? There are starving children, and lonesome elderly who've led noble lives of quiet sacrifice and unsung distinction wishing an unassuming warm bodied soul would visit them for a few minutes before they reach the grave. Too good for that, are you? Yeeees, you are! THEY should've given you a fancy pen. Here you are slumming it, makin' one of your own -- like a commoner. Do you not know of a single height from which to flee this cruel world? Are you such a disappointment even gravity, a law of nature which drives the universe, has turned its back on you? Ink, well? We're overdue for a stern talk, you and me. I'll greet you again in the lofty air of rarefied greatness which every self transforming genius understands, or lie with you lifeless in a gutter of filth for always. Race me! Alors et adieu!

This is a stupid idea. You need to understand the concept of what Montblanc is and the history behind the company. The quality and exceptional attention to detail in all their products reflect the prices. You should just stick to the Pilot G2 and the ink it comes with. BTW the 'C' in Montblanc is silent.

TUL needle point is great too

Check out this video for a hack of the Stabilo pointball, replacing the cartridge with a Parker 0.7 Gel and a a Schneider Gelion 39. http://youtu.be/hNhUiLJOze0

You are missing the point. The point of the montblanc is purely aesthetics on the outer shell and the balance of the outer shell. This is just a G2 with a refill, but missing the ergonomics of the standard montblanc and the aesthetics of a montblanc

Can I do the same thing with a Pentel energel pen?
-
The G2 Classic is a really good writing pen,and will stand on its own against any of the five much more expensive pens,Four Cross's,and one Parker. The 14 kt. gold rolled Cross I have writes slightly better, but it cost $122.50 more than the G2 Classic.
-
THE G2 IS AN EXCELLENT PEN BUT THX FOR THE VIDEO!!!
-
I bought the Montblanc pen and replaced it with the G2 refill
-
You could also make a 77¢ Pilot G2 that works as well as any MontBlanc : just use the G2 as is, without any modification.
-
hey guy nice vid I heard you can change the end stopper from the g2 and put it in the mont blanc
-
ugh i cant find any mont blanc refils in toronto
-
you really aren't getting the idea of what mant blanc stands for.
-
A loooot of thank you!! That's exactly what I was looking for since I lost my Montblanc
